The 13th Annual Emergency Services Day
Sunday 13th June 2010 on the Pavilions Gardens Promenade, Buxton, from 10.30 am to 4.15 pm.
It doesn’t matter how old or how young you are this day has something for everybody, what’s more it’s completely free, an ideal day out for all.
This display day is unique, for it’s not only for the three emergency services Police, Fire and Ambulance but includes the other emergency back up services so important in the Peak District, Mountain Rescue, Cave Rescue, Search and Rescue Dog Association, St. John Ambulance, First Responder, Red Cross, Neighbourhood Watch, the Peak District National Park Authority and more..
In addition to static displays by each of the services there is also Arena displays throughout the day including a simulated Road Traffic Accident, a fire call, police demonstration, simulated mountain rescue, displays by some very special dogs; and much more.
It’s not all serious, far from it, there’s plenty of fun especially for the children, sit inside a police car or on a fire engine or go down a mock cave, there is also a fun competition between the emergency services. Don’t forget all this is absolutely free.
Although they are not an emergency service, they are uniformed, Buxton’s famous Billerettes will again be performing their entertaining marching display during the afternoon.
This is a great day out for all. Enquiries contact Bill Weston MBE mailto:wwestonb@aol.com.
