Gardens

The seven-year Gardens restoration project was completed in 2004 at a cost of £4.5m. The project was supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and achieved its aim of restoring the Pavilion Gardens back to its original Victorian style.

The Gardens are enjoyed by over 500,000 people every year and to combination of walks, lakes, play areas and miniature train ensure that they remain a firm favourite with the whole family.

Miniature Train

Centrally located in our Heritage Green Flag award winning gardens, the miniature railway train operates between the hours of 11.30am and 5.00pm throughout the year at weekends and every day during school holidays*. Children 3 years and under travel free of charge and other passengers can enjoy 2 circuits of the track for just £1 per person.

We would kindly request that children under 12 are accompanied by a responsible adult of 18 years or over whilst riding the train.

* If we encounter rain, snow or other extreme weather conditions the train may not open, so it is always advisable to call Pavilion Gardens (01298 23114) to check the running times.
